ideas that don’t require any investment, and I’m going to break down how each one works before we go there.
By businesses worldwide in 2019, when COVID hit, I realized that diversifying my income streams was not just a good idea; it was fundamental to relying on just.
One source of income, even a job, can be risky. This was true during the pandemics and still is in today’s job market.
2020 I started creating online courses and sharing my knowledge with the world. I kept consistent at it. Incorporated other sources of passive income, and nowadays most of my income comes from passive sources rather than client work.
Okay, let’s jump straight into the topic.
How to make money with online courses
There are two main ways to make money with online course marketing. your courses yourself or adding them to a marketplace I currently work with both methods, so I can give you some insider information.
Tips: First, let’s talk about selling—
courses on your own platform Here’s an example: I sell a course on my website that helps people master HPOT for their jobs or clients. People visit my website, pay for the course, and get access right.
This method is great if you.
already have an audience, like if you’re active on YouTube or Instagram or have a big email list, meaning you already have a number of people who trust your work and expertise. Here you’re responsible for your own marketing. The idea is that
You simply send your course link to your followers, and they make a purchase. This can be either a good or bad thing depending on where you’re coming from if you have an audience.
This method is great because all the sales profits go to you, as you are the one doing your own marketing; however, if you don’t have an audience, it can take time to build trust and start selling.
The second method is selling courses through a marketplace, and it’s ideal if you don’t have an audience. I started with this method on platforms like Udi Skillshare. Udacity and Coursera let you post your courses, and then they do the marketing.
For you, I have 15 courses on Udi Academy. and Udimi handles all the promotional ads. emails, social media, you name it. The downside is that they keep a percentage of my core sales for marketing and operational costs, but the upside is that I made money in my very first month even without an email list.
One reason why I love the marketplace model is that it helps you build an audience in an indirect way my UN students often become.
My fans sign up for my newsletter. Follow me on social media and even book one consulting, so in a way you’re growing your email list too. Let me know in the comments if you want more details on how I got started on my affiliate.
Next up in marketing is affiliate marketing.
Simply put, this is when you promote a product or service and earn a commission when someone buys through your referral link. In my case, affiliate marketing ties in nicely with my courses since my courses are mainly about tech I promote.
subscriptions to the platforms I teach, For example, I’m a HubSpot affiliate, so when students sign up for HubSpot through my link, I earn a commission. It’s a great way to add another income stream without so much effort; you can put Aid links in your courses on your website, social media posts, or even digital products on YouTube.
Finally, let’s talk. about YouTube full disclosure I’m still getting started with this one, but YouTube offers huge potential for earning. Here is how it works: Once you hit 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time in the last 12 months, you can apply to be a YouTube partner that allows you to monetize your videos with ads. YouTubers make money through ads.
Revenue sponsorships and even affiliate marketing in their videos: some creators make a small side income, while others generate six figures a year. If you’re already creating videos or thinking about it, YouTube is a great way to build passive income over time.
It might take a while to get to that 1000 subscriber mark, but once you’re there, the possibilities are endless. So those are my three passive income ideas.
online courses in affiliate marketing and YouTube remember none of these require any upfront investment. You just need to start creating content and, more importantly, keep consistent at it.
